Benefits of Joining a Landlord Association

Reblogged from Landlords Scoop:

If you are a landlord, there are many benefits of joining a landlord association. If you are a struggling landlord, having a hard time finding good tenants, or having any problems managing your rentals, a landlord group can be a useful source of advise, acknowledgment and help. As a landlord, you are not alone.

Landlord associations are also sometimes called a Landlord Group, Real Estate Investing Club, or a Property Owners Association.

The Gilded Age

Maybe gilded gold decor evokes images of high-brow, ultra-rich, roped off rooms (my aunt had one for years, red velvet rope and all) but the gilded age need not be such a frightening design option. Subtle hinds of gilded gold adds elegance and warmth to any room. Add one or two pieces, gold-leafed or gold painted can bring the look to your apartment. If you are heading in the French or Shabby Chic design direction, adding a gold framed mirror or artwork, or a French nightstand, as in the image above are lovely options.

It's the most expensive Co-op apartment ever in NYC. But whoever has this much cash available, or gets his bank to join in, will not regret it. A whooping 12000 square feet (which is about 1200 m2) and so many terraces that one was converted in an outdoor ice skating rink for a party once. The owner, Grammy Nominated songwriter Denise Rich (what's in a name), is selling it as she suffers from empty nest syndrome.

Incredible...the price and square footage...decor not so much...

Blue and Green Interiors

Daring to be bright and different, blue and green interiors add vibrancy and life to any apartment space. I find the denim wallpaper an interesting touch. Pale green touches bring the design together. Lucas Allen photo.

Get out some blue and some green paint to make interesting changes to a wall or an old piece of furniture. Of course, I love the chartreuse chair on left. Smile.

More blue than green with this Shabby Chic styles chest of drawers featuring great wall art. Via Decorating Den.

Love this creative space with deep blues and olive green contrasts. Eclectic and stylish.

Softer blues and greens give a fresh lively feel to this teen/kids bedroom designed by Martensen Jones Interiors. Via House of Turquoise.

This apartment dining room is stunning with a blue glass table and green apple wall paint. I love the table setting! These look like my Libbey glassware.

The epitome of retro in blue and green interiors comes to life with blue-blue walls and Kelly green vintage style chairs.

And finally a blue and green interior space that speaks student. Another true blue and green color combo for small apartment bedrooms.

Monday Morning Award

You know Mondays, especially ones like today, with rain, cold weather, the threat of snow, yes, I said SNOW people, and just the general “crap, the weekend went too quick” feeling that comes with a Monday? Well, I’ve just been boosted out of this dull-drum of a day by cool designer Carol Ruth Weber of Weberlifedesign who has so graciously just nominated my blog for The Beautiful Blogger Award. I thank her for her kindness and thoughtfulness.

The rules of the award acceptance are to thank the presenter and link to his or her blog, and to nominate and link other blogs that you truly enjoy, re-blog because you just think they’re so awesome and wish you thought of the post sooner, or just genuinely enjoy getting lost in the beauty of the blog they present. Send your nominees a message with a link to your nomination post to let them know how much you appreciate them.

Here are my inspiring design buds, truly beautiful bloggers all:

Portable Fireplaces – Fireplace Friday

Yes, another Fireplace Friday post, this time exploring the idea of a portable fireplace! So your apartment or home doesn’t have a gorgeous-mantled fireplace built in? No more pouting. Fear not the lack of warm inviting fire to cozy up to on those late winter and spring nights. These portable fireplaces offer all the beautiful aspects we crave from a fireplace, are a functional heat source, give you the comfort and romance you may want, and run efficiently on eco-friendly ethanol (allows for vent-less fires). Image above is the Eclypsya fireplace from Arkaine.

Absolutely adore this wall mounted fireplace from Vauni Cupola. The item is light-weight and as easy to hang as a flat screen TV.

Another cool, I mean warm, wall-mounted model from Arkaine, the Icoya fireplace. Sleek and modern metal would be cool in a industrial loft space.

Looking for something a bit more unusual? How about some ethanol flames in a truck? When not in use, the truck closes as a nice accessory piece to any room. Found this design at Atria Le Feu Nomade.

Simply simple. Ponton Fireplace in a glass cylinder is fuel by standard or bio alcohol and ethanol. Literally, you can have a fire anywhere!

Now I know that I showed you some great hallway examples not so long ago, but I couldn't resist blogging about this little beauty. Taken from one of our upcoming homes in the June issue of 25 Beautiful Homes (on sale 3rd May - don't miss it!), I think it's a great example of how you can make the most of a small space.

Loft Dreams

Right now I live in a roomy townhouse with multiple floors, but if I ever had to live in a more urban setting, like New York, I would have to fulfill my loft dreams! To me there is nothing more fresh and inviting than a clean open space, decorated to perfection, of course. I love this glamorous loft designed by Tori Golub.

Lofts were originally built as an apartment in the top floor of a barn or a building. The unique roof/ceiling architecture was used to create a unique open living space.  I love what was done to create this loft apartment in Stockholm. The peaked roof and the block-book shelves are perfection. Built in fireplace looks yummy also and give the cool space a warm feel.

This loft space in New York gives the perfect definition of industrial:  high ceilings, big windows, open floor space, exposed pipes, concrete wall and floors, the use of metals and wood for apartment features and decor.  Often lofts will feature the exposed brick walls of the building.

Cute loft apartment in Sweden.

Ultra modern and fresh loft space.
