Glass Interior Walls

Glass interior walls are a wonderful way to open up a small space. I’m fascinated with the idea. Of course, this isn’t an option with supporting walls, but other interior wall, such as the wall in Brooklyn apartment hallway makes the space open and refreshing.

Not in need of bedroom privacy? Perfect for a single person or a couple.

Glass walls partially enclose this kitchen space. It still looks open, but the walls will block out some of the kitchen noises in this apartment.

Vintage look tub in glass walled bathing area. Bikes and guitars optional.

And who wouldn’t love this open glass wall in a top floor apartment space? Love the cool Shabby Chic feel in the decor. A bit of a fish-bowl feel, but who would see you way up there?

Cool Desk Day

Found this cool vintage looking orange desk and great apartment office space. Looking through my archived pics for additional desks, but can’t find anything as cool, so this pic gets a solo shot. Enjoy!

One of my guilty pleasures is occasionally tuning into TMZ…although it is generally complete trash, last week they actually reported something pretty interesting.  It turns out Gwyneth Paltrow and her adorable husband Chris Martin purchased a spectacular estate in the Mandeville Canyon area of Los Angeles known as The House of Windsor.  I am completely blown away by all of the lovely details in this home concept home, which was designed by Windsor Smith and decorated by designers from Veranda Magazine.

Eclectic Office Style

I love unique and eclectic home office spaces. Not just a desk in a corner, these spaces express the personality of the owners. They a both comfortable and versatile as well as eclectic in design. In the image above we find a sophisticated mix in the decor choices. Love the deep painting on the recessed wall contrasting with the brightness of the windows. Great view. Via Apartment Therapy.

Loft Love – Casa Olivi

Feeling loft love today…and this one is exquisite.  A journey to Italy brings us to the Casa Olivi.  This gorgeous minimalist loft was designed in a 300 year old farm house.  The breath-taking design was done by Swiss architects Markus Wespi and Jerome de Meuron, who I feel did their finest in keeping the architectural details of this house intact.

I absolutely love the rough stone and brick walls that vault to the second floor. Every room opens out with arched doorways bringing in 360 degrees of lush Italian country-side views. A kitchen so minimal and clean. Unbelievable.

Second floor bedrooms with gorgeous white fixtures and windows that open to the view. Peaceful and lovely. Love the wood beamed ceiling.

One of the best parts about this loft: the outdoor terraces for relaxing and entertaining. And check out the view with those rolling hills. Sigh*

The terrace area features this unique infinity pool…This loft is available for holiday let.

Anyone care to go to Italy with me?

Room of the Day – Iris Room

Room of the Day – Iris Room at the Downtown Home Inn in Toronto, Canada.

I love perusing lovely bed and breakfasts, elite hotels, and wondrous inns for bedroom decor design ideas. The Iris room is simple and bright, with stark contrasts of color. I absolutely love the dark wood and floors against white.
