Hipster Apartment Decor

What is hipster style? It is a melting pot of ideas, cultural differences, and authentic details. It is a style that is embraced by younger middle class and late teens, as a form of expression, in personal style, fashion, and of course in their apartment decor. The use of unique fixtures, wall decals, and the always great flea-market finds can create a unique and expressive hipster space.

Blue Shabby Chic

A bland apartment space can be transformed easily into a cozy blue Shabby Chic haven with a few touches from this popular country design line. The color blue is both soothing, relaxing and promotes rejuvenation in the human spirit, especially when the blue is in the softest of pale shades. Bedroom image via Interior Fans.com

The antique appeal of Shabby Chic furniture and the roughed up finish of this pale blue sink chest and medicine cabinet are perfection in this style of decor. To make it more shabby and chic? Add odd finds from flea markets, like jars, old glassware or china to complete the look. These items can be functional as well for storage or soap containers. Image via Home and Decor.

Adding a heavily quilted and pillowed daybed to any room give an instant seating space or a great place to curl up and read a book or take a nap. Love the mix of blue colors here. Via Coastal Living.

Room of the Week

My room of the week is The Blue Room at Thornewood Castle, located in Lakewood, Washington. This stunning hotel room features highlights of dark and subtle blues in a pristine classic setting. Special notes: The four-poster canopy bed and the 16th Century stained glass windows. I love all the details in this room.

Little trivia on Thornewood: This castle was the featured setting for the ABC mini series movie Stephen King’s Rose Red. Haunting is not out of the question.

French Country Bedrooms

Looking for a way to make your apartment bedroom soft and romantic? Why not go with a French country bedroom design? The airy lightness that this decor option gives if comforting and welcoming, as well as a pick for romance. Get your pillows and petticoats out.

My love for iron work abounds with this French country bed and bedding. French country gives a soft glowing buttery feel to the space with pale and muted colors often the choice.

Here I love the shades of ivory with French white furniture.

A small apartment bedroom can look beautifully light with pale sage, rose and ivory colors with a lovely French wood daybed.

Pretty and green. This French country guest room is soft, fresh and light. Love the little nightstand. So chic. Love French country design for apartment bedrooms.

The Gilded Age

Maybe gilded gold decor evokes images of high-brow, ultra-rich, roped off rooms (my aunt had one for years, red velvet rope and all) but the gilded age need not be such a frightening design option. Subtle hinds of gilded gold adds elegance and warmth to any room. Add one or two pieces, gold-leafed or gold painted can bring the look to your apartment. If you are heading in the French or Shabby Chic design direction, adding a gold framed mirror or artwork, or a French nightstand, as in the image above are lovely options.

Versailles gold furniture. Great style.

Love this creamy, dreamy room with gilded gold touches. Via Decor Pad.

Totally gold: French Louis furniture striking and elegant.

Emmaus Pa Apartments – Shabby Chic Dining Rooms

Going with Shabby Chic decor for your Emmaus Pa apartments? I found some beautiful room ideas to bring this style into the dining area of your Emmaus Pa apartment.

Shabby Chic’s key design element is the unfinished, or roughed-up look of the wood on tables and chairs, giving the dining space a worn, well-loved feel and texture. Pure comfort in Emmaus Pa apartments.

Posted this picture before, but I absolutely love the unique and fresh feel of this dining room. Very chic.

In deep color love here with this simple elegant Shabby chic look for your Emmaus Pa apartment. The chairs are lovely in design and the soft yellow chiffon walls are precious.

A great Shabby Chic dining space for a full on French country feel. Love the dark and white wood finishes combined keeping the space fresh and soothing to the eye. The chalk-board a nice added feature. Consider some of these creative design options for you Shabby Chic Emmaus Pa apartment.

New York Apartment Decor – Room of the Week

Love this spacious New York apartment living room found at Elle Decor. This room features a painting by Takashi Murakami, which just makes me smile, a retro look cocktail table by Guy de Rougemont, and a pair of beautiful Leleu bergeres.
