Photo Montage of Scranton, PA

As a renter in search of a new apartment, you will find many beautiful apartments for rent in Scranton, Pa. and the city itself is a gem, filled with elegant turn of the century architecture as well as new designs. Scranton features a fine culture at it’s heart, with education with local universities and the arts right outside the door of your Scranton Pa. apartment. After all, Scranton is called The Electric City. The up-rise in popularity of this former coal industry Pennsylvania town can be attributed to the popular and funny TV show, The Office, which fictitiously has it’s location in Scranton.  The following are some more lovely shots of the city. Click the image for links to the great photographers featured here.

Vintage Interior

Vintage interior photo circa 1964 or so. Who’s afraid of orange and chartreuse, huh?

The Indomitable Spiral Staircase

I know I may have blogged about spiral staircases before…but when an image pops up on me I get in this groove…thus the sharing. This is an amazing photo taken at the Lighthouse in Michell Lane, Glasgow. Photo: George Gastin

If you’re a fan of spiral staircases, then you’ve seen versions of this famous staircase I’m sure…in the Vatican Museum in Rome.  Photo via yaadayaada

Artistic interior design spiral staircase by the Italian company Bonansea Scale. Love the unique dark styling, especially against the white. The curved details along the railing draw the eye upward, reminding me of flames on a candle.  Photo via Dekris Design.com

Stunning piece of interior architecture…would love to know the designer, but can’t find the company in my searches. If you have any info, let me know…

Of course we can’t all put a spiral staircase in our homes…or, can we?  This spiral staircase is a dynamic option…It’s a wall sticker! Great idea! And the company name is so cool too (Pink Floyd fan here!)

Welcoming Autumn

image: Autumn Produce via National Geographic

Well, it’s that time of year again, officially, when football in in full swing, and the leaves start to change, and the nights get that extra chill which calls for fireplaces and furnaces to be lit. And it’s a nice time to add some snappy fall color to you apartment or home.

Yes, they are a fall wedding flower display, but wouldn’t this be delightful as a dining room table centerpiece, or on the island in the kitchen?

Rain

What could rain possibly have to do with your apartment decor?…unless of course we are considering your deck or back yard area, then…In any case, we are being inundated with rain, and more rain, and then a little more rain this week. With the drought, heat, and wild-fires in Texas causing havoc I find it hard to believe we live in the same country. But, today, I’ve gone with the rain as inspiration for decor, in the form of artwork in this case.

Great photography comes in many forms…and the simplest things can add interest. Try new artists for original photography at great rates. This photo: Rain Lights by Kateey is available in print. Click image for artist info.

…if I were the rain by Foureyes, another great photography print.

Hearst Castle (via phoblography)

Incredible architecture photos. What a great tour they had! The Hearst Castle is a beautiful spot. Enjoy.

Hearst Castle Day 6! We’re almost to the end of my photos from the trip. Hope you enjoyed looking through the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. :) Jay and I drove to the Hearst Castle in San Simeon, Calif., Wednesday morning for a tour. The castle, also known as “La Cuesta Encantada” (Enchanted hill) was built by William Randolph Hearst (1863-1951), newspaper magnate and publisher. The estate is more than 90,000 square feet. There are a total of 56 bedr … Read More

Black and White

The simplicity of black and white make living in your Easton apartment a breeze. Monochrome colors always look fresh, never go out of style and have a masculine as well as feminine feel.  This bedroom may be very modern for your Easton apartment, the color scheme ideas here are priceless.  Found this at Evinao Design.

Add a hint of color to a black and white living room.  We love the mantle features and the mirrored coffee table that set off this room.  Note the black plates arranged on the black wall.  And of course, the chandelier.

Highlight any area of your Easton apartment with a black vase. This decor gem, placed on a white or glass table would look fantastic.

Black and white pillows from 2 Nuts in a Shell. You can make these yourself with instructions on the website.

Bathroom and American Chateau bath accessories.

American Chateau silver and black placemats would look great in your Easton apartment, especially with these on board:

Love the shape of these black Tuxedo dishes from Simply Smart Living.

And why not feature some great black and white photography on your Easton apartment walls.  This timeless Robert Doisneau portrait called The Kiss, can be found at Pictures for Walls.
